The workshop dedicated to the monotype printing technique led by Anna Afonina in the TUMO Studios.

The image of Lake Sevan is associated with my family vacations and gatherings with my schoolmates.
I have been coming to this place for many years. Besides its important ecological status, Lake Sevan has a very personal meaning for me. Therefore, using the monotype technique, I created five prints, each of which highlights an important issue for me - the pollution of the lake. As references, I used maps from different years. The color palette came from here; I liked that the process of pollution is visualized through beautiful rich colors, even though in reality, it signifies a serious environmental disaster. It's also something that we can only see through special non-human optics. With each print, the blue diminishes, turning into a pure green, symbolizing a growing problem.

Below you can see several works which are monotypes depicting parasites and landscapes that inspired me.
